Hi, Please see the picture attached.

For every number in the left column I am trying to match that number and the property type found in the row next to it and return the associated number at the top. So for example for 103 0 06 with property type house-Y i want it to return 0. Note that I want to do this only for the property types with Y at the end.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you!

Excel Facts

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
sorry not following , diffult to see an image - see otherways to post here - further down my replay

assuning that the code is in column A, as i cant see any of the columns

103 0 06

then in that row , you have column C,D,E,F - and those 4 titles are repeated again
In column O you have house-Y

so now because that has house-Y you want to return a zero- return into what column ???

307 0 09. towards the bottom has house-x - so cant just put in the row 2 , as it appears

so really confused
can you do the following

Note: Images are difficult to see , and also requires that I input all the data myself, which is very time consuming.

A SMALL sample spreadsheet, around 10-20 rows, would help a lot here, with all sensitive data removed, and expected results mocked up and manually entered, with a few notes of explanation.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data and will allow us to copy/paste your sample data into our Excel spreadsheets, saving a lot of time.

You can also test to see if it works ok, in the "Test Here" forum.

OR if you cannot get XL2BB to work, or have restrictions on your PC , then put the sample spreadsheet onto a share
I only tend to goto OneDrive, Dropbox or google docs , as I'm never certain of other random share sites and possible virus.
