When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
This is because the star after hospital means "any finishing value", so Washington Hospital MRI is meeting the request and as it is above, excel takes this value as in vlookup. Taking off the stars or putting them into brackets on Sheet 1 and 2 works. If star is really needed, in excel (I am not used to google docs) we have a text function and then I guess changing $A10 in formula in B10 by text($A10) might work but I have a doubt as putting ' in front of the text does not.

In other words, the star is not really allowed, it is a character used for formulae
