I have a spreadsheet with the columns "received date", "due date" and "order type". The "receive date" is a manually entered field. The "order type" cell contains a drop down box with 5 choices. The "due date" cell needs to be based on the "received date" of a job plus either 3 working days or 5 working days depending on which choice is selected in the drop down box in the "order type" field. Can anyone help me with a formula for this?

Thanks in advance!!!

Assume:
Rec'd date is in A2.
Order type is in B2.
Order types are A, B, C, D, or E
Order types A, B or C add 3 days, others add 5 days

Due Date formula:
=IF(OR(B2={"A","B","C"}),A2+3,A2+5)

That formula works great, but I now have a bit more criteria to be included. :(

The "order type" cell now contains a drop down box with 6 choices. The "due date" cell needs to be based on the "received date" of a job plus increased either by 3 business days or 5 business days depending on which choice is selected in the drop down box. BUT here's the catch....only two drop down box selections need to increase the due date by 3 business days from the received date, one drop down box selection needs to increase the due date by 5 working days from the received date and the other three selections have various due dates that need to be entered manually because they are special jobs and don't fall into the 3 or 5 business day rule.

Any additional help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Revised Assumptions:
Rec'd date is in A2.
Order type is in B2.
Order types are A, B, C, D, E, or F
Order types A, B add 3 days, C adds 5 days, D,E&F need manual intervention

Due Date formula:
=IF(OR(B2={"A","B"}),A2+3,IF(B2="C",A2+5,"Manual Input"))

The formula works great!!!! The only think I need to know is how to increase the dates by working days - to exclude weekends.

Thanks so much!:)
