Hi,

Very small issue but it annoys me...if I type a password in correctly, a new book opens, which I then have to close.

I can't see anywhere in options to disable this...can it be (disabled)?

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
A pretty vague thread !!!
Password for what ??.....Sheet, Workbook ?
Is it an Input box created by code or a native password input box ???
Is there code in the workbook ??

You really need to provide more information.....remember, we can't see what is happening on your computer !!!

Sorry...workbook that's password protected ie needs a password to open it.

If I input this incorrectly, the workbook won't open, as is to be expected, but a blank workbook opens, this used not happen before...no code in the workbook.

Hope that's clearer

Sorry, I was away for a bit.

No joy with the suggestions in the link, thanks for your efforts.

I'm on a PC, not large files eg I open a new blank workbook, save it as "test" , then File-->Protect workbook--->Encrypt with a password

If I create the password 123, save & close. then I open it, type in password 124, I get the incorrect password message & instead a new Book1 opens.

This is a relatively recent development, though it might be something new with a recent upgrade but internet searches don't show anything....anyway, it's just a minor irritant.
