Incorrect Data in Pivot Table

Hello,

Just found a scary bug(?) that I found when drilling down my data which I do not know how to handle.

In my PP file I have one table with transaction data where one of the columns is material number. The material number is then connected to a translation table to get the material description.

In my pivot table I have a slicer for Material Description (lets call the materials A,B,C...)

The problem I just found is that even if I filter on material description "A" I will find transactional data with Material description B when drilling down.

I have tried to also add material description in the "report filter" without success as this was suggested in this post "http://datapigtechnologies.com/blog/index.php/be-careful-drilling-into-pivottables-with-slicers/"

I have checked my data several times but I cannot find what causing this issue. Any ideas?

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
I may add that there is only a small fraction of items in material group B that are displayed in the output when filtering on group A.

It does not have anything with the text formatting as I have everything adjusted in PQ before adding the data to PP and I have checked the source file if the is anything bugus there....

I have created more power pivot models... than I have drank Rum and Cokes. Rums and Coke? Rums and Cokes? Anyway, A LOT of models. I have never ever seen the engine "be wrong". well, there was a bug related to TOPN when I was trying to write MEDIAN, but... let's ignore that.

If you want to share your workbook, I can take a look.

You are right. Excel is not wrong. Never ever will I blame on the logic in Excel again. There was an issue with how some of the data was transferred from our supply chain system to the financial system which has now been corrected.
