Greetings,
My colleagues and I are trying to sort out a way to send someone an excel file that has been password protected and will not give the receipient the ability to manipulate the data. Seems easy enough, but they emailed me the data to test it, and I opened the excel file in 2003 and everything seemed locked sufficiently, but I then imported the file into Access and was able to change all of the fields. I then exported the Access database back into Excel and created an identical spreadsheet with new numbers. Exactly what we dont want. What was the issue here? Was it the versions of Excel or something that occurred when the spreadsheet was protected? This data is used in ArcGIS, so it must be able to still be imported into Access or ArcMap without losing its protection. Any suggestions?
