importing excel table into access

I'm trying to import an Excel table into Access.

I have Access 2002 and Excel 2002.

So, following from the Access Help instructions, I go to File, Get External Data, Import, but then the drop down box Files of Type doesn't include Excel. The only options are Access, XML and ODBC.

That looks like an instal problem and you would need to run install again and double check which drivers are being loaded.

alternativly you could try copying the data in Excel and just pasting it into Access. This works normaly but I dont know if the lack of drivers will affect this option as well.
