I am trying to import a delimited text file into a table, but I can't get the table to give me an autonumber primary key....i keep getting an import error when I have a record_id field in the table. Any suggestions?

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Are you trying to import into an existing table with an autonumber field?

Are you trying to place values from the text file into the autonumber field?

If you are then you will get an error.

How are you doing the import?

Are you using the Import wizard? If you are you can choose not to import the offending field.
