Does anybody know how to have the Import Export Text macro text to column on special characters like the "~" tilde

what do you mean, import the character tilde?
do you mean, import data using the tilde as a separation character?
as an actual value?

That can be done.
Just do it once manually. You can select "Other" and enter the tilde in for the separator.
Then, save the Import Specification before clicking "Finish" in the last step.
You can then use that Import Specification name in your Macro.
