I imported data from a system which has no interface with excel (we use excel 2003)
the text in the date column is like this:
"16.03.2011 06:52"

I'd like to trim the last 6 character, and transform the text into date formula.
How can I do that?

thanks!
it worked, but not in the same form exactly.
I used the left formula only, because the date function didn't work with the 'left'.
the source data was not in date format... maybe this was the problem.

finally it is correct, you were right, but in the Hungarian excel you need not to use "," but ";"
thx
