Hi,

I have been given a CSV regarding Cloud PC usage, there is a value identified as "TimeUsageInHour" which has a value of
6.614444444 and is of General format - when I change it to TIME format is gives a value of 14:44:48

How does Excel interpret or determine the real hh:mm:ss to be 14:44:48 ?

Any help gratefully received.

Many thanks. Ian

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
It's actually 158:44:48 which you will see if you format the cell as [h]:mm:ss
Excel stores time as a decimal portion of a day, so 12 hours is 0.5

Thank you Fluff, that makes sense.

The report is from Intune and it appears the value 6.61444444, is actually 6 hours, 37 minutes - essentially 60 * 0.614444444 gives 36.86 rounded to 37

I asked the SME to check the dashboard and confirmed the time of 6 hours 37 minutes being reported.

Interesting.

Many thanks again
