Import txt File Error

I purchased PowerPivot For The Data Analyst and downloaded the associated example files. When I try to import the demo file I get the following message:

An error occurred while loading the file. More Details:Failed to connect to the server. Reason: No error message available, result code: E_UNEXPECTED(0x8000FFFF).

I am not sure about a reference to a server since the data is resident on my hard drive. I assume it has something to do with the browsing file path and name but am not sure how to change it.

Well you should be able to choose the file by using Browse once you choose your import from source.
Do you get a preview of the data before it imports?
It sounds like you may have chosen the wrong source.
Try it again making sure it matches the type of the example, Access, Excel, .csv or whatever.
I don't have that book yet but have done a lot of importing.
