Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
If I'm thinking of the same thing you are asking, here's my 2 cents.

Use Get External Data>Import

start to import any old text file

click Advanced

and then Click Specs

A list may pop up

There's probably a better way but I don't know it.

Hi blueshark....yea I know from there...I actually need to id the spcification name to be used in an import form. Currently I am using a value list of the spec names in a combo box. Also I would like to use this form generically, that is in many projects and would rather not have to retype the value list with each use. Not a show stopper but it would be nice.

Thanks

Dan
