I am not familiar with the import function. I would like to move our entire Excel DB into Access to make things faster. How can I export Excel into Access and keep formatting, equations?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
You will need to ensure that your tables are normalized. You can then use the wizard to import them or you can link them directly. As to your formulas, they will have to be, in all liklihood, converted to Queries. Formatting is something that only applies to Reports. If you are new to Access, then here are two links that you should read and understand before jumping into this project.
