IIf(Len([tbl_Verizon]![User ID])="8" And Left([tbl_Verizon]![User ID],1)="1",[tbl_Verizon].[User ID],False)

Returns the query, but when I try to sort or filter a column from the filter triangle I get an error. Or if I click on the Filter command in the ribbon I get this error. But I do not get the error when I sort from the ribbon commands.

"syntax error (missing operator) in query expression "User Name"

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
I don't know abut that
but shouldn't
IIf(Len([tbl_Verizon]![User ID])="8"
be
IIf(Len([tbl_Verizon]![User ID])=8

or will access automatically convert a length to a string

I don't see "user name" anywhere in that expression. the error might be elsewhere.
