IF, with 3 outcomes

Hi guys

Basic one for you - data as follows:

	A	B	C	D
1	1	3	Y
2	3	7	Y
3	7	1	N
4	5	5	M
5	2	1	N

<tbody>
</tbody>

I want a formula in D1 that:

> looks at C1 - if "Y", shows A1
- if "N", shows B1
- if "M", shows 0


Is that do-able?

Is it really just those 3 possibilities, or are you simplifying a more complex scenario?
If it's not Y or N, can it be assumed to be M ?

Try
=IF(C1="Y",A1,IF(C1="N",B1,0))
