You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Assuming cell A1 is the input field

=IF(A1<1,"A1.1",IF(A1<2,"A1.2",IF(A1<2.5,"A2.1",IF(A1<3,"A2.2",IF(A1<=3.5,"B1.1")))))

Welcome to the board.

Try
=LOOKUP(A1,{0,1,2,2.6,3},{"A1.1","A1.2","A2.1","A2.2","B1.1"})

Welcome to MrExcel,

Another way:

Code:
=LOOKUP(A2,{0,1,2,2.6,3},{"A1.1","A1.2","A2.1","A2.2","B1.1"})
