What do I put in the false value so instead of returning a zero, the function doesnt do anything. So, if true returns x, if false nothing happens.....

Welcome to the Board!

You can use double quotation marks to return nothing.

=If(test,result,"")

Hope that helps,

Maybe Im using the wrong fucntion
IF A(activity) says running, I want to report B(laps) in a separate table...

When I use the fucntion with the ""'s at the end, it leaves spaces between rows....
like this

5
5

5

5

how do get the fucntion to do nothing, including reporting a blank space? Just do nothing...

You might want to consider AutoFilter to hide null return rows.

But can you post a shot of your data?

You can do that with the HTML Maker (the link can be found at the bottom of the page). That will also include relevant formulas so we can see what you're working with.

yea, ive been working with autofilter for a while but im getting some glitches

run bike tread
5 5 5
5 5
5 5
5

when filtered using the auto filter to the "run" collumn...it filters across all the "tables" and therefore "Table: Tread" looses the third row of information. So does bike.

how do i get rid of the spaces between data?
I tried autofilter and it seemes to erase the entire row, when only the first column is blank. Ive tried spacing the separate "tables" but it still filters across the entire row...any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I don't relly see an easy way around this one.

Maybe some one else will have some ideas.
