I have a column of text strings in Column E and I would like to have a formula in column F that returns only the text strings that are seven characters in length. If they are shorter or longer than seven characters then I would want the cells in Column F to be blank.

Would I do this via an IF statement or is there another method?

Thanks.

Hi,

You also don't need the brackets around E2 for value if true:

=IF(LEN(E2)=7,E2,"")
