Hi,
Can you help me with an if statement. Sometimes an enduser name has a / in the name we need to change the / to an _

For example
John Doe/ Jane Doe and I need it to be John Doe_Jane Doe.
I really do not have any idea how to write this if statement.
thanks,

Sharon

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Assuming your text string "John Doe/ Jane Doe" is in cell A1, see if this works for you:

=SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(TRIM(A1),"/","_"),"_ ","_")," _","_")
