If statement between months on hand and a date

Hello!

I can't get this formula to work correctly!
I'd like to have the word "Alert" added to the center cell if the difference between today and the expected date is less than the months on hand. If I had 1 weeks worth of inventory left on hand and the inventory won't arrive for 3 weeks based on the expected date, the word Alert would appear. Thanks in advance for any advice!

What does 0.3 for "MONTHS ON O/H" actually mean?
Is that 0.3 of 1 month, which would be about 9 days?

It's a MAX formula of either on hand qty/(2018 qty sold/12) or on hand qty/(YTD qty sold/month(today())

But what EXACTLY does 0.3 mean (in plain English)?
What does it translate to?
Is it 0.3 months, as in "9 days", or something else?

Please explain exactly how it is to be interpretted, in reference to this formula, where you want to compare it to elapsed time.

I apologize Joe, yes, .3 months would be roughly 9 days. .5 would 1/2 month. The actual business days in a month change slightly though but 9 days would be roughly .3 months i guess.

OK, in that case try something like:

[COLOR=#333333]=IF((G74*30)<(I74-TODAY()), "ALERT", "")[/COLOR]

(assuming 30 days in a month)
