IF OR Statement checking 2 cells

I have 2 cells
A1 contains ABC DEFG
B1 contains XYZ 1234

in cell C1 I need the formula to look at A1 and B1 and what cell contains ABC to copy that value (ABC DEFG) to cell C1

Note that the ABC value will always be at the beginning of the text.

What happens if neither start with ABC?

In that case how about
Excel Formula:
=IF(LEFT(A1,3)="ABC",A1,B1)
