Hi all

I could really do with some help as I can't get this formula right. I've been trying to use IF INDEX MATCH.

IF A2 contains 2016

INDEX data from Column C

MATCH H5 postcode with X5 postcode


I basically have numbers in column C that I want listed in a new table, but only if cell A2 says 2016, and the row needs to match the postcode from the original table, to the new table.


Please help!

Your request is pretty vague.

What does this mean ?

MATCH H5 postcode with X5 postcode

If the postcode in H5 matches the postcode in X5, then you don't really need the MATCH function, you can just use
=H5=X5
to return a TRUE or FALSE result.

OR, maybe you mean you want to search for the postcode in H5, in column X ?
Which would maybe be more appropriate for the MATCH function.
OR, maybe you mean you want to search for the postcode in X5, in column H ?
