Hi,
I'm trying to use conditional formatting to change the color of one cell say I3 based on certain text criteria in M3. Basically I want I3 to turn blue when M3 says (admin) for example. I understand conditional formatting but have never used it on 2 different cells. Would this be an IF Function? Thanks guys!

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Hi,

If the criteria is "admin" in M3, not "admin" as part of a longer Text String:

Select I3, CF, use formula, enter =M3="admin"
Select Format.

Probably not. The formulas used to conditionally format must evaluate to TRUE or FALSE. In your example, the CF formula would be:
=M3="admin"
