Hi guys,

I am having a brain freeze.

If I have a number of 700 (A1) but I only want to calculate the difference if its plus or minus 5% of it what formula should I use?

I wanted to attach a file but I cannot see the option and do not know how to do it.

Thanks

TJ

=IF(Value>735,"Plus 5%",IF(A1<665,"Minus 5%","Within Range"))

Thanks but I think we have a misunderstanding - have used this Nested If formula already:
Code:
<b31,b40-b31,if(b40>[SIZE=2][COLOR=#3E3E3E]=IF(B40 < B31,B40-B31,IF(B40 > B22,B40-B22,0))[/COLOR][/SIZE]

Assuming A1 is 700, I have then made cell B31 665 and cell B22 735 when cell B40 was 661 then cell B57 was 4 (if B40 had been 680 then cell B57 would have been 0) - As cell A1 can change I was hoping there was a formula that can skip the middle steps</b31,b40-b31,if(b40>

If you have this formula:
Code:
<b31,b40-b31,if(b40>[SIZE=2][COLOR=#3E3E3E]=IF(B40 < B31,B40-B31,IF(B40 > B22,B40-B22,0))[/COLOR][/SIZE]</b31,b40-b31,if(b40>
and it is working, simply replace the calculations you are pulling from those other cells (i.e. B22, B31, etc) for the cell references in that formula, i.e.
Code:
=IF(B40 < (A1*95%),B40-(A1*95%),IF(B40 > (A1*105%),B40-(A1*105%),0))
