Hello,
I am trying to expand on the following formula:
=IF(B1="","","Hi")

Verbally it reads, "If B1 equals blank, put blank, other wise put HI."

What I'am trying to do is add another criteria for the blank portion such as:
"If B1 equals blank AND John, put blank, otherwise put hi."

I don't know how to introduce the additional criteria of John to return a blank result.

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
I think you meant
"If B1 equals blank OR John, put blank, otherwise put hi."

If so, try
=IF(OR(B1="",B1="John"),"","Hi")

M.
