=if() function is not working like it should be

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Any formula that starts with =if() doesnt work. What should i do?
What do you mean by "doesn't work"? Is it showing the text of the function instead of the desired calculation? Or is the calculation wrong?

In the first case, you should check to see if you cell is formatted as Text. If so, you will need to change the cell format to something else, and re-enter all the formulas.

If the calculation is wrong, however, you should post a sample of your data, the calculation you are using, and what is the discrepancy between the result it is producing vs what you expect.

Its a simple formula =IF(G1="","",G1-10) and it doesnt work, shows this message ´the formula you typed contained an error´ just for testing i tried this formula on the excel online version and it did work. Any formula that starts with =IF doesnt work.
