Good day all.

I am using excel 2016
I am trying to do a seemingly easy IF formula but every way I write it I get an error

What I am trying to do is as fallows:

IF any cell in Column J = 1 then I would like cell F1 to subtract the value in cell H1

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
IF any cell in Column J = 1 then I would like cell F1 to subtract the value in cell H1
What exactly does what I highlighted in red mean? What cells have values/formulas and what is the before and after values displayed in them?

The spreadsheet is a product material inventory list.

Cell F1 is the current quantity in inventory
Cell H1 is the amount required to produce a single unit.
Column J is the finished unit list.

I would like when I add 1 to the finished unit section that the parts per unit will subtract from the current quantity in Inventory.

Thank you for your help on this

Sorry can not post a SS.

I have an IN Stock tab to where I will be entering each finished unit. For each unit entered Column "D" will be entered the number 1 So when I add the 1 on Column "D" on the IN Stock tab I would like on the "product Material Tab" the value in F12 ( the "quantity in stock" IE 125) to be subtracted by the value in H12 (the quantity used per unit IE 10)

Add a finished unit and subtract the quantity per unit from the current quantity in stock.
