IF formula assistance

Hi Excel Gurus,
I am having issues with this formula. Not sure how to make it include return "yes" if the total exceeds -ve 1000.

Sample formula used in cell B8
=IF(A8<1000,"",IF(A8<>0,"yes",""))

Hi,
In cell B2, you can test

=IF(ABS(A2)>=1000,"yes","")

Try this if you want output "yes" if the cell A8 has a negative value of more than 1000.

=IF(A8<1000,"yes","")

Or perhaps, you need this:

=IF(A8>-1000,"yes","")

Oops, I missed the negative sign in my post # 3. This is what I had in mind while answering.
