Hi i am having trouble with a formula to return a specific word if a cell is blank. The formula is crude and works but when i copy it down the page because the date look up is blank its returning "Open value". I tried to add a second criteria to say if cell A is also blank return nil but can't seem to get it to work. Can anyone help. i have tried all sorts.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
How about
Excel Formula:
=IF(A2="","",IF(D2="","Open","Closed"))
