IE Page Loading Indicator

I have noticed that as I am navigating messages the IE page/file loading indicator in the statusbar is chugging along as if it is trying to download a file or something. After a while it seems to lock out completely about 1/3rd. way across.

This does not seem to affect the functionality, although I do get the hourglass/arrow cursor if I move the mouse outside the window. If I ignore this and click buttons everything seems to work OK.

This happens at home and work. 2 totally different platforms and Windows/Explorer versions etc.

Any ideas why ? Can this be fixed ?
