Using Excel 2010:
I'm working with a very long list of vocabulary words & definitions and need to clean out duplicates. I followed the directions at http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/msoffice/how-to-find-duplicates-in-excel/842 to copy only unique records to another location.
It worked, but then I realized that it stripped out every single instance of a repeated term. I needed to keep some of the duplicates because of the type of data I'm working with. I have duplicate terms from both Spanish & French (such as colors and days of the week) and I need to keep both words with their English definitions.
For example:
In the French section, I have this:
6801: jeune
6802: young
And in Spanish:
18198: joven (pl. jóvenes)
18199: young
In French, I have this:
7057: lundi
7058: Monday
7059: mardi
7060: Tuesday
7061: mercredi
7062: Wednesday
7063: jeudi
7064: Thursday
7065: vendredi
7066: Friday
7067: samedi
7068: Saturday
7069: dimanche
7070: Sunday
And in the Spanish section, I have this:
17983: domingo
17984: Sunday
17985: lunes
17986: Monday
17987: martes
17988: Tuesday
17989: miércoles
17990: Wednesday
17991: jueves
17992: Thursday
17993: viernes
17994: Friday
17995: sábado
17996: Saturday
And again in French:
7209: orange
7210: orange
Is there any easy way to find/highlight all the duplicates and then search through them to delete the one I want to delete and keep the ones I want to keep?
Thanks in advance!
