Hello,

I have an excel file that contains product descriptions. However, the editors have mixed greek characters into english words. For instance they used the greek letter "χ" in the place of the english letter "x" or the letter "η" instead of the english letter "h", which in caps all look the same. Now, I need to replace all non-english characters with their respective english characters. I have used Find and Replace but it offers limited functionality and I have more than 20+ documents that I need to go through. As a first step, I need to be able to identify and highlight all greek characters in the document with a formula or script and second one that replaces specific greek letters (like the example above) with their equivalent. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to the MrExcel board!

As a starting point, I suggest that you have a look through this thread, particularly from post #9 onwards.
If you need more specific help then post back and provide some sample data, preferably with XL2BB and at least a small list of the characters to be replaced and their replacements.

Hi again, I found the solution (at least for indentifying them) in this thread

Does that mean you don't need help here any more?

Which post(s) in that thread exactly are you referring to?

In your descriptions do you have any characters other than letters, spaces and these Greek characters? (eg digits, punctuation marks like commas, apostrophes or other symbols like $ % ( ) etc)
