Allow me to explain. I am a doctoral candidate and my all my raw data will be in the "left most" sheet. I want to clean it in stages, with the data in each stage going into the next sheet. When my chairmen clicks into the sheet I want the explanation of what the stage is to pop up. I would also like him to be able to remove it by clicking some something.

(I used to be on this board some years ago - under the name of mortgemeister. I have forgotten a lot of what I learned here :-( )

Using a mouse in Excel is the work equivalent of wearing a lanyard when you first get to college
.
Code:
Option Explicit

Private Sub Worksheet_Activate()
    MsgBox "Hi"
End Sub

Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
    If Selection.Count = 1 Then
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("D4")) Is Nothing Then
            MsgBox "Hi"
        End If
    End If
End Sub

The top macro activates when the sheet is selected. You go from Sheet2 to Sheet1 for example. And the macro is located in the Sheet1 level module.

The bottom macro will activate if you click on Cell D4 of the sheet.

From your description it appears you want to use the top macro. Instead of it showing a Message Box, you could have the macro display a USERFORM with the description embedded
in the USERFORM. Have a CLOSE button on the USERFORM for when he has finished reading.

Thank you Logit. I am going to use the simplier version suggested (in a different but related post) by the so called Totally Confused.
But thank you just the same.
