I think i need a VLookUp... help please...

Hello clever people...

I need some help which I think would be easy to someone that can do VLookups. I have a list of all staff on sheet 1, which has columns that include their first name, surname, department, line manager.

On a separate tab, I would like to be able to count how many direct reports each line manager has. I would also like to count how many members of staff there are within each department.

I hope that makes sense.

In this case COUNTIFS or SUMPRODUCT are more suitable.
