Hi all,

I'm working on putting up the Access/Excel part of my website.

Would anyone mind listing some Access resources they use frequently?

I need forums, sites with add-ins, tutorials, samples...basically anything I can throw on the links part of the Access page.

I really only use MrExcel and TheOfficeExperts, so any additions would be most appreciated, and please, if you have a Access/Excel site of your own, leave the address, I'd love to link to it.

I'm not attempting to be an Access resource by myself, more of a hub between many of the awesome resources already out there.

I would also LOVE to feature anythink written by any of you guys, so feel free to send me anything. You'll get credit, of course, and a free hippy-swirl! If you want to find out more about hippy-swirls, send in your goodies!

Again, I'm not trying to create an Access resource, I could never come within 1000 miles of this site (and many others) and its unbelievable content, more of a crossroads for people passing through my site that might be interested in Access/Excel stuff and want to head MrExcel's way, perhaps...

okay, I also have:

http://www.ozgrid.com/forum/
http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/

http://xcelfiles.homestead.com/
http://www.turedata.se/

I realize there are probably a million more, but I want good ones!

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
The best resource for Access VBA is:

But be careful, the Moderator is kind of an ***. Try not to post novice-level questions and MAKE SURE that you don't repost a topic that has been covered. In fact, unless you've been doing development for Microsoft for at least 10 years, you probably don't want to post on this site at all  (I think the moderator is actually Comic Book Store Guy, but I've yet to verify this). Still, very informative.

Now I can add this to my collection of rare Access links!

Of course, Russel,

I forgot to add the most important!

I suppose:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo

as well.

Oh, and I forgot:

http://rhdatasolutions.com/

:)

I know this thread has been done before, but what I'm trying to do is,

My site is all about music and such, but I get hits from you wonderful people, who might not necessarily care about all the music stuff, so if a newbie happens to link to my site from a post, I'd like to give them sort of a map of the inner circle of good Excel/VBA resources. I'd also like to keep this list current, and include links to posts as demonstrations of techniques.

Sooo, thanks for the participation!

edit: Thanks for the list Dugan, I'll have to check 'em out.

Thanks Tanis!

This list is looking good! There's a couple of sites that I forgot about, so I'm glad you guys reminded me. I just can't deal with Tek-Tips, that pop-up is ridiculous.

Thanks again,

Yeah, I know; what's sad is that TEK-TIPS has the potential to be such a great site since it covers so many platforms.

Yeah, I guess I should include it, I just have this personal DEEP HATRED of pop-ups. I can't stand them, they make me crazy. I hate it when I'm trying to figure something out, and I check out a bunch of random sites, and everyone is a free site with a stupid pop up, and before you know it, your boss walks in, you close IE, and uh-oh, you've got 72 pop-ups and pop-unders scattered about your screen. I actually had one of those 'get hits' sites offer to attack people with pop-unders for me, to try to drum up hits. They actually thought people didn't mind pop-unders, that they were somehow better than pop-ups.

You know what I have even more? Ads that 'trick' you into visiting their site, like you try to close the window, and its a link, or you can't close the window, or they undo the 'back' option.

Honestly, HTML is great, but its a little to accomodating to other codes that can be VERY annoying.

But you're right, Tek-Tips is a comprehensive site, perhaps I will warn my viewers about the pop-up next to the link...

Thanks!
