Nor simple data spreadsheets - so neither xlsx or xlsm
These were working fine until yesterday.
I can create new programmes.
I have reinstalled 365 twice - and tried repairing - when it reinstalled itself again.
I have checked that Trust settings appear ok.

Suggestions, please, to maintain my sanity.

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
1. Reboot and retry.
2. Use CCleaner.exe to remove temp files.

How are you opening them, Windows Explore, or in Excel, File > Open?

If the latter works, your Windows application association by that file type was not set. Right click the file in Explore, Open With, and check box for Always Open With, and then the Excel application.

Thanks for your reply.
I have rebooted and tried again - several time!
used CCleaner.exe
I have tried both ways of opening, and checked the Windows application association was set correctly - it was.
Still doesn't work.

Looks like a call to Microsoft Support is needed.

You can try a safe boot but I am doubtful that it will help.
