I have BYCOL and BYROW function problems

AVERAGEIF and AVERAGEIFS inside BYCOL don't work. I don't know why. Since I have one item in Utilities, I get a VALUE error. Hopefully, these snaps work and are close enough to the Excel Labs formula. XL2BB doesn't want to work. If you need additional info, please let me know.

Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

You cannot use an array for any of the xxxIF(s) functions other than for the criteria, and the variable List is an array.
