I can't format dates

Hello, I created a Pivot table from a PowerPivot: inventory per date.

Example:

Date Qty
----------------------
3/1/2012 1,853
3/2/2012 1,728
3/3/2012 1,924
3/4/2012 1,654

The date is in "Row Labels" and Qty in "sum of values"
My problem is I can't format the Date from m/d/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy.
I select the column, right click and click "Format Cells..." then I select the format I want, but it does nothing ...

What's wrong?
Maybe "Row Labels" columns don't support format?

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
Try changing the format in the Date table and then see how it flows through to the pivot table.

My Date table is an Oracle table, and the Date column is of date type.
I solved the format problem adding a new column of type varchar2 (an Oracle text type) and populated the new column with the Oracle function to_char(date, 'dd/mm/yyyy').

Problem solved.

Tahank you
