We use Office 2003 on Server 2003 (upgraded from SBS 2000 ealier this yr) & about July August last yr hyperlinks in docs across the network stopped working.

They would work as long as the file was still open after creating HL but soon as you closed the files then re-open, the links stopped working.

The only way to resolve this was to leave the full path name as the HL & then people could copy the link into address bar.

I even rang M$ in New Zealand & they told me it was not their problem & it would cost $400 /hr for M$ egineeers to resolve it with no guarantees! So any M$ egineers out there a solution would be bluddy nice!!!!

BTW this stopped working in all MS programs except Outlook.

Anyone with any ideas, it would be appreciated.

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
I had the same problem with hyperlinks.

Solution:
I saved the spreadsheet as a "Single File Web Page (*.mht; *.mhtml)".
I can now open the file and click on the hyperlinks and get to the correct place.
