I downloaded and installed Stephen Bullen's Recordatmark.exe from his site. I can not find any documentation on how to use it. Anybody familiar with this Add-in?

Thanks -- DJ

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
I installed it just now to see what it was. Neat!

Anyway, looks like you need to open the VBE and put the cursor in a place where you would like to insert code. Then in the VBE, go the Tools menu and select "Mark position for recording."

Then you can go back into Excel and select "Record at Mark" instead of plain old record. When you finish recording, the code is inserted into macro at the point you selected.

You made it sound so easy. I don't have "Mark position for recording" on my Tools menu. Nothing changed on my Tools menu in VBE or Excel. Did you do anything else after running the .exe file?

um...I don't know if it has anything to do with it or not, but when I installed it I installed it into my add-ins folder. It doesn't show up in the addins list, but it was just there *shrug*

Okay. I installed it and I pointed the installer to my add-ins folder. What is the new addition to your add-ins folder? Mine has a new "Record At Mark" folder and it contains INSTALL.LOG, RecordAtMark.DLL and UNWISE.EXE.

Here's another question. You said, "Then you can go back into Excel and select "Record at Mark" instead of plain old record." Is this a new button on the VB toolbar or a menu command?

Oh! Sorry. It is on the Tools menu in the VBE, and in the Tools\Macro menu in Excel.

I just downloaded it here at home, though--it seems to work when installed to the default directory as well.

When I installed it on another computer it worked just fine. I'll have to try and figure out why it didn't work on the first one. Thank you for your assistance!
