How to use drag autofill correctly?

For instance, when I drag a numbered cell (1, 2, 3, etc), how do I make it so that instead of continuing the numbers (4, 5, 6, etc), I can have it copy the same thing respectively. (123, 123, 123). Thanks.

Select the 3 cells then hold the Ctrl key and drag the Fill Handle down.

I believe that you have interpreted the question differently to me.
I understood the request to be if I want to keep repeating 123
So, I said:
Put 123 in A1
Put 123 in A2

Then select Range A1 To A2
And drag down to repeat 123
