How to stop emails replies from threads

Hello, as this will show, I'm new to the site.

Is there a way to turn off email subscriptions when threads update. My inbox is nearing explosions.

I could not find a clear way in the interface/options area to do so.

User control Panel, 'Edit Options' and alter the 'Default Thread Subscription mode' setting.
