I only saw one non-answer from 2008.
When I sort a column based on cell data, the named cells don't move with the data.
Am I missing something?

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
You are correct. When you think of a named cell (or named range) as if it were a nickname for a cell or range, it would make sense that the name (whether it be A1 or MyCell) would remain where it belongs when you are sorting values. However, if you physically move the range, the name goes with it.
