How to search one field within another

I have a list of emails and the contact names they are tied to. There is a lot of bad data in it so I am trying to find a way to search the last name field within the email field to be able to pull out all the emails where I have the contact's last name in that email to make the list more manageable to clean up.

I tired using a like statement for the emails criteria to find any emails that had the last name in them but it gave me a bunch of junk back with the good results so it didn't necessarily work.

any ideas how to do this?
