I have a Pivot Table in excel connected to SQL Server view. If I type over an item, that change seemingly becomes permanent. I tried refreshing, selecting NONE for the number of deleted items to retain, re-opening the spreadsheet.
The only way to clear is to do a Clear All, but that removed the entire Pivot Table, so it needs to be made from scratch.
I do not use Excel too often, but this is some weird behavior; or am I missing something obvious?
Thank you.
P.S.
I am using excel as a front end for forms. So user will then be able to override what they need, and I send it back to SQL Sever via Python. So a Pivot Table is a convenient way to retrieve table data with a user friendly slicer and make it ready for updates- as a form. Surely this is not ideal, but Access Web is being retired in Apr 2018, and this seems as a reasonable alternative. But if you're saying this is not appropriate for SO, I can delete and paste on some other forum. Thanks.
