My wife has a very old laptop that has some excels files she wants to move to a newer laptop. she has been getting messages about her office programs being "out of date" or someting like that.
she said she was able to open the files but could not edit them. So we tried to email them to the newer laptop which does have a new office 365 license and the first one worked.
But the subsequent emails did not get received, it said they were sent but not delivered. i noticed the format on the subsequent files were ".ink" format not ".xlsx".
my question is how can I retrieve the files?

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
I'm going to assume that it is .lnk not .ink, which means that it is only a shortcut to the file, not the actual file. You need to find and send the actual file from the old computer.
