How to reference a named range

Hi there,

I have what I thought was a simple problem, but can't seem to find the answer. I have 11 names of named ranges in a list. I am trying to reference the name of the ranges in an =index(namedrange,3), so that I can drag my index formula down and select each named range.
I tried =index((text(a3,3)) where a3 contains my the name of my named range.

Any thoughts?
Maybe there is a better way to do this?

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Thanks for your response Hot,
I am trying to refernce a cell within the named range. In this example, I am trying to select the third row within the named range and return the value. I was able to use the formula:
=INDEX(INDIRECT(A3),3)

So it worked great!
