Hi! I have a file in the local network to wich i have a shortcut on my desktop. The thing is I usually want to open it in read only. Is there a way of doing it through the shortcut, maybe with some special lunch parameters?
I don't like doing this through the open excel program and its menu, it is too messy.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
If you have adminstrator privilages then right click on the shortcut. Go to the shortcut tab. In the Target box, after the path enter /r

it would look something like this in the Target box.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /r

If its not that then the /r goes at the start like:

/r "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe"

well... it does nothing for me. still opens in full edit mode. I tried P:\file.xlsx /r and "
P:\file.xlsx" /r, no difference.
/r
P:\file.xlsx says that pass is wrong.
