How to make different emoticons

I searched the forum for this but couldn't find it. I would like to know the keystrokes for making some of the various emoticons (smileys) on the board. And how do you make the animated ones? Thanks!

Actually, on every single post you make, there is a link to the smilies. It is in the line for "disable smilies on this post".

It will open in a new window, and show you all of the different ones that will automatically work with the right "code."

The animations have nothing to do with anything you enter, they are just animated picture files. Some move, some don't.

You can effectively link to any picture as long as you get the url and code right to do so.

However, http://www.smilies.nl is set up so that if you click on the one you want, the correct code for posting it on a message board shows up so that you can copy/paste it.

Thanks Juan and Von Pookie! I couldn't get the url method to work. But now I know how to make the icons the board supports.

Eh, using the urls for smilies isn't that hard. It depends on if you get it spelled correctly, or even if the website/server they're on goes down.

Take this one, for example:

(not implying anything, I just like that one)

I have that one saved on my personal webspace, and just typed the html code to use that. You can also use the img tags in the board code, it does the same thing.

I'm just curious, but what did you try? You said it didn't work?

Thank You Kristy

Well, I tried this one yesterday, but when I posted it it just showed the text and not the image. Not sure what I was doing wrong, but it seems to work now.
